Real estate agents are notoriously known for taking creative license in describing their listings, but
lately I am seeing more examples of the other extreme. Check out the remarks for this listing of 3500 Lake Knoll Dr, Northbrook, list price $699,000:
“Allow 48 hour notice to show. Subject to lien holders approval”
That’s it! And no interior photos either. You would think that after 143 days on the market the listing agent could at least make an attempt to get people to visit the property.
As a future-buyer, I find this to be extremely frustrating! Some agents feel if they put pictures, it won't get people in the house, which says something about the agent's confidence and the property itself. Personally, I want to see what kind of shape it is in on the inside because I'm considering something that needs some TLC, but if the outside isn't very appealing and there are no interior pictures, I'm not going to bother with going to look. You'd think by now agents would realize that some pictures are better than none.
Don't even get me started with photos that are just obscenely bad (poorly taken). Bad lighting and photos of only the toilet are NOT going to bring a potential-buyer in.
